Pelargonium House

The Pelargonium House is home to our collection of Fibrex scented pelargoniums. Fibrex Nurseries is owned by Ed and Laura in Worcestershire where they grow an incredible variety of Pelargoniums and we are delighted to hold a collection in the glass house at Nepeta.

Pelargoniums are a delightful accompaniment to any greenhouse or rooms within the home. If the scent wasn’t beautiful enough, the plants bear clusters of blooms that come in a variety of colours that sit upon bushy foliage.

These wonderful evergreen perennials can flower almost all year round and the foliage is highly scented in many different varieties when touched.

Pelargoniums are perfect for pots, but can also thrive in the soil. They require fertile well drained soil in South, West or East aspect. Position them in full or partial sun and keep them in a sheltered location.

To maintain them, deadhead during flowering to prolong the blooms. Keep protected from winter weather, especially frosts. During the winter months, its best to keep them on a windowsill or heated glass house. As the plants establish water regularly, although it is best to let the soil dry out between watering as they don’t like sitting with wet feet!
